When should I seek help because of my online behavior?

Check if you can recognize any of these situations from your own life

It can be tempting to live out your sexual interests and fantasies online. But when you are anonymous online, it can increase the risk of experimenting with behaviors that overstep boundaries that you would never act out on IRL.

If you can recognize any of the situations we describe here from your own life, then you should seek help to change your digital behavior.

Do you recognize any of these situations?

  • I look at pictures or watch video of children to be sexually stimulated, or I’m considering doing so
  • I look at abuse materials featuring children (child porn) or I’m considering doing so
  • I become more secretive about my online activity, such as deleting the traces of my activity and storage files
  • I use several new social media to get in touch with children
  • I show or share sexual material featuring children online
